Every one experiences fear and anxiety from time to time as it is very much a part of the human experience. It is the signal our body gives us when we are faced with a dangerous situation or a stressful event. However, chronic anxiety, or fear and anxiety that is out of proportion to a situation, is problematic. It can feel like constant tension or manifest itself as panic.
Bodily symptoms of panic can include a racing heart, profuse sweating, light headedness, feeling hot, shortness of breath or struggling for air.
Psychological symptoms include a belief that something terrible is going to happen, or that one is losing control. Anxiety and panic can be signals that some underlying conflict needs to be addressed.
Deborah can help you understand the sources of your anxiety and provide strategies to help you manage this all too common human experience.
