Self-esteem can be defined as the way in which we feel about ourselves. At times of stress and when feeling overwhelmed it is common for people to feel uncertain, lack self-confidence, think negatively about themselves and others, and to doubt abilities. If this happens often it may indicate a problem with low self-esteem. Low self-esteem can impact negatively on work, interpersonal relationships, and in social situations. If you have low self-esteem you may experience many symptoms of depression such as sadness, emptiness, lack of ability to feel pleasure in life. A history of difficult experiences or long term stress can lead to feeling demoralised and discouraged. Deborah can assist with an exploration of current and past difficulties that may be, or have been, chipping away at your sense of self, and help you to find solutions to improve your self-image and relationships.
